Lafayette, IN, November 5, 2026 — A Powerball ticket purchased in New Jersey is the sole winner of an estimated $847 million jackpot following Wednesday night’s drawing. The ticket successfully matched all six numbers drawn, marking a significant lottery win for the Garden State.

The winning ticket was sold at an undisclosed location within New Jersey. Lottery officials confirmed that only one ticket across the entire Powerball network achieved the perfect match required to claim the substantial prize. The exact value of the jackpot is an estimate, and the final amount may vary based on ticket sales and annuity options. Details regarding the specific retailer where the ticket was sold have not yet been publicly disclosed.

The drawing took place on Wednesday night. The winning numbers were not specified in the provided information. Powerball drawings occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The estimated $847 million represents the annuity value of the jackpot, paid out over 30 years. A winner also has the option to take a lump sum cash payout, which would be a significantly lower amount before taxes.

The identity of the winning ticket holder has not been revealed, and it is not yet known if the ticket has been claimed. Winners of large lottery prizes typically have a set period, often one year from the drawing date, to come forward and claim their winnings. The process for claiming such a large sum involves contacting the New Jersey Lottery, where officials will guide the winner through the necessary procedures, which may include the option for the winner to remain anonymous, depending on state laws.

This marks one of the largest Powerball jackpots in the game’s history. The previous largest Powerball jackpot was $2.04 billion, won in California in November 2022. The $847 million prize is the latest in a series of substantial lottery wins across the country in recent years. Further details are expected to be released by lottery officials as the claiming process unfolds.
