Pumpkin awarded $11,000 in donations to veterinary clinics for cost-of-care education
PR Newswire
NEW YORK, Oct. 30, 2026
NEW YORK, Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Pumpkin Pet Insurance is rewarding 11 veterinary clinics with $1,000 to support angel funds that help pets access care their families otherwise can’t afford.
These awarded donations are part of Pumpkin’s ongoing effort to help veterinary clinics educate families about the cost-of-care.
Making care decisions with confidence
Clear, early conversations about expected costs, coverage basics, and payment options can build trust and allow pet parents to make confident care decisions. When the subject of cost is part of routine vet visits, pet parents are more likely to be proactive about budgeting, pet insurance, and next steps. In a recent AVMA survey, 81% of veterinarians reported that clients are more sensitive to costs than just a few years ago, leading to fewer visits and more clients who decline recommended care.1
“No one should have to choose between the pet they love and the care that can help them,” said Bob Betz, SVP of Vet Sales at Pumpkin. “These clinics lean into honest, compassionate talks about cost, so families know what to expect and how a Pumpkin plan can help them afford it.”
Where the donations are going
The following clinics were awarded donations through Pumpkin’s cost-of-care education challenge:
- Exotic & Small Animal Hospital of PA (PA) – donating to Peaceable Kingdom
- Brilliant Veterinary Care (NY) – donating to Frankie’s Feline Fund and Big Apple Cat Rescue
- Schwenksville Veterinary Hospital (PA) – donating to ALITE Fund
- Massapequa Pet Vet (NY) – donating to Long Island Wildlife And Animal Rescue
- Carpenter Animal Hospital & Pet Inn (NC) – donating to Paisley Paws
- Glen Oaks Veterinary Care (NY)
- Kings Row Pet Hospital (NV)
- Little Neck Veterinary Care (NY)
- Moriches Hospital For Animals (NY)
- Town & Country Animal Clinic (MD)
- Noah’s Ark Veterinary Practice (NY)
“We’re proud and excited to make these donations, so pets can get care when families can’t afford it and parents can say yes in the moments that matter,” said Betz.
“Cost is part of care. When we explain the impact early, in plain words and with options, families feel ready to move forward,” said Kym Penland, Practice Manager at Carpenter Animal Hospital & Pet Inn. “This win is bigger than $1,000, but we’re thrilled to bolster our partner’s angel fund and take care of pets in need.”
